Stories have the power to move us all. They kindle our imagination, dare us to dream, and inspire us to change our lives and the world around us. This is why ACB is excited to announce its Voices Collection, an archive of stories and experiences from Americans who are blind and visually impaired.
We currently live in historic times, and it is important for us to not just share our story to help bring about change, but to share it with future generations who will look back in time on these days and wonder just what life was like when the world came to a stop.
The perspectives of individuals who are blind and visually impaired hold a powerful narrative. Together, we share common experiences faced by the challenges during these unique days brought on by the global pandemic. And hopefully, through this collection of stories, we want to share the voices of those who are experiencing life through the unique lens of someone who is blind or visually impaired.
we encourage anyone in our family to take a few minutes and share your own story, to have your voice heard. You can write it down, record it to an audio file, or reach out to a member of ACB’s team who can help you capture your own voice in a way that you would like others to experience it. What is important is that it is your voice.
